By: Candace Wrighting

Do you like to ski or snowboard? Maybe you're a beginner who wants to learn. Well, there are plenty of ski resorts in Utah that will give you that opportunity!

You'll find that the Salt Lake City area is full of great ski resorts, so it's no wonder that the area was host to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. It's the perfect place to spend some time on the slopes. It offers a unique snow composition along with lots of sunny days, the perfect combo.

Families and beginners might enjoy the great classes at Snowbird, a particularly large resort. It includes shops and high-end lodging. It is a more expensive resort than some others, but worth it for its amenities and all-inclusive feel.

Brian Head Resort is rare among the ski resorts in Utah, in that it offers a mountain set aside completely for children and beginners. The mountain is known as Navajo Mountain, and it's right next to the learning center of the resort. This setup gives parents a more secure feeling for their children's well being, and beginners who haven't gotten used to skiing can feel more at ease.

Of the resorts in Utah, Park City Mountain Resort is one of the more famous ones. It covers a broad range of experience, offering help and instruction for skiers of all skill levels. There are multiple levels of children's programs at Park City Mountain Resort, which strives to provide a family environment that's safe and fun.

If you're just starting out and you're on a budget, consider Wolf Mountain. Located on the edge of town Eden, you'll find it's one of the least expensive skiing resorts in the state. It has a great teaching terrain, and the resort offers a variety of great family packages.

Another resort dedicated just for beginner skiers can be found at Bald Eagle Mountain at Deer Valley Resort. It boasts of an area called Wide West. People of all ages can take classes at the ski school.

We haven't even scratched the surface when it comes to describing all the ski resorts in Utah. You have tons of choices for an instructive and fabulous skiing experience, whether or not you're a beginner traveling with friends and family!
